Sing Again

On Sunday Cory and Jocelyn were hanging out on the couch. Cory was doing something on the computer and Jocelyn was playing on my phone. I decided to take advantage of it and take some time to sing. I don't get to do it often. I pulled out some good old warm up arias and art songs and started playing around. It took about five minutes for Jocelyn to head over and "help" me out.

"You want help mamma?"
"Sure Jocelyn."
She then reaches over and pushes a button on our good ol 64 key  casio and - some awesome casio prerecorded 90's jam begins. Great accompaniment for some french art songs.....

After turning the song off I proceeded to finish what I was singing and eventually realized that Jocelyn was attempting to sing with me. She sat on my lap carefully listening to the sounds I was making and trying to sing the same thing.

The other night Jocelyn and I were outside. She then asked to go inside and go to bed. So in we went. As I was getting her ready she decided she wanted to go outside again. I told her no. To which she responded, "Its my life!" I turned to her and asked her if she just said, "Its my life." and she replied, "YES!"

Yesterday Jocelyn was playing with her friend Kason. She wanted to sit next to him, but he was not a fan of that idea. After several minutes of her trying to convince him to let her sit next to him and him saying," NO!" she stood up, looked at him and said, "Kason, don't be a stinker!"

False Labor

Oh pregnancy,

Don't get me wrong. I am so grateful that I am able to be pregnant with my second child. I am grateful she is healthy and moving all over. However, as I have stated before, I am not in love with pregnancy.

Last night I was lucky enough to experience another joy of pregnancy. False Labor. When I had Jocelyn, I did not realize I was in labor for quite a while because my contractions did not follow a specific pattern and it was all in my back. So this time I have been very aware of any pain in my back.

I have been feeling a lot of cramping in my back on and off since around 30 weeks but it was nothing to worry about. Then last night I was watching TV and one of those moments the cramping was strong enough to really bother me. I drank a lot of water and laid down. The cramping continued on and off, around every 6-9 minutes for about an hour and they felt more regular. I then decided to take a bath. It did not get away.

Now, I have this problem. I hate looking like a big baby. I did not want to go into the hospital and look like some crazy pregnant person with nothing wrong. However, I was advised to go in since Jocelyn was born early. So in I went at 1130pm. Went to labor and deliver. Sure enough I was having contractions. However, after checking me it was determined that they were not doing anything more than annoying me. I was able to go home around 1am.

So here we are. I am very glad I am still pregnant and little girl was not too impatient. But I am not excited to know that I may continue to have these contractions for no real reason for the rest of the pregnancy. 6 more weeks.......

Thoughts on pregnancy

31 weeks. This picture is for
30 weeks. In about one month I will reach the time that I had Jocelyn. We are hoping this one stays a little longer (but hopefully not the whole time....) I just read this post from my pregnancy with Jocelyn. Kind of fun to see the differences between the two.

I still am not a fan of being pregnant. Especially this time. I had only about 6 weeks where I did not feel sick. Boo.

Did you know a baby can just chill out between your hip bones even if you have this huge belly? I do now. Its amazing how low this baby is. I literally cannot wear anything because of the pressure I feel due to where she is. I also have to pee. A. Lot. Its grand.

I have resigned to the fact that I will never be one of those people who only gains, oh, maybe 20lbs. Once out of being sick (which took over 20 weeks) I started eating better and gaining less, but...it was past repair at that point. However, I also know I will not be gaining 50 or 60 so I take comfort in that.

Speaking of gaining weight- this baby LOVES chocolate. I could not even think of chocolate without getting sick while pregnant with Jocelyn.

Being pregnant once you have a child can be tiring but I kind of like it too. Watching Jocelyn's excitement over the thought of "baby sister" kind of helps me hate pregnancy a little less. When she wakes up in the morning and wants to touch baby sister, or show baby sister to her dolls, its cute.

Also, this baby moves completely different from Jocelyn. Jocelyn did not move a lot or have huge kicks.. She just stuck her butt out all the time. I would literally see my left side deflate as her bum pushed out my right side. This one? She does flips in my belly. Its kind of fun to look at my stomach and see it go crazy like she is trying to get out. Part of this may be because of the fact that I had an anterior placenta with Jocelyn, but I know it is also just difference between the two.
