Farewell Sister Pulsipher!

What? You think Sara left in November? Well I sure had you fooled. She has just been hiding at my place until I could post these. She is now officially in Denver Colorado.

My Mom and Sara drove up the weekend before she was to enter the MTC (Nov. 5?) They stayed with Brandon and Bethany then came to see us the night before. This was literally right before they left. I took a lunch at work and gave her one last hug.

The (very) proud Mama and her youngest of four daughters. Yes, she did cry.

We took a nice one for Mom

Ever wonder how easy it is to get Jocelyn to look at you for a picture?

About that easy.

Lets get political

Ok,

So I am going to get a little political here. I could post it on facebook but I think this would be better at avoiding arguments. We obviously all know about the GOP primaries going on right now. Even if you don't want to know, you do. Kind of annoying. However, I do know that I want to go into this voting armed with as much knowledge as I can. Its difficult for me. Reading up and learning about candidates is like trying to organize my whole house. I think its a good idea and start to do it, then I get overwhelmed by all the things that I don't want to see and I quit.

So I am turning to you, my friends and family. I would like to have a very kind (keep that in mind please.) discussion about who you like and why. Lets assume we are just talking about GOP. We know Obama will be running again. Enough said there. Who would you like to see as the Republican candidate and why?

My opinions are as follows. I like those who appear to be willing to lean towards moderate because I like the idea of compromise. Even if I am wishing for something that my not happen. So here are the three I am kind of considering.

Mitt Romney- Honestly? I can't say I love him, but I can't say I hate him. It is true he has a history of success at getting businesses going. He also has a history of dropping them. But maybe we need that guy to get us going again? I like that he shows moderate tendencies. People hate the health care thing he did as a Governor, but maybe we need to be willing to compromise like that?

John Huntsman- I really don't know a ton about him. I know that I liked him when he was in Utah. I liked his view on things. I liked that he supported Civil Unions, alternate forms of transportation and his willingness to try and get a very conservative state to look at both sides of an argument. I do not like that when asked if he was a "Mormon" that he totally side stepped the answer. This is not just because I am a "Mormon" but because I do not like that he was not willing to say, "Yes, I am.". No matter what you believe, if you are going to hide it to please others, what does that say about how you will deal with pressure to stick to what you believe for (not religious but other.) our country if you are in office? So much of me wants to like him, but little things like that make me nervous.

Ron Paul- Everyone seems to love him. He is the answer (so it seems) . I seem to like his stand on some things but, earlier in the year this video showed up on my Facebook news feed. Sorry but that killed it for me. Its a weak argument and complete trash. Not to mention what it is implying about our military while trying to make a statement on war. Being the wife, friend and family member of those who have been oversees and been scared by it, I don't like that add one bit. I really am willing to give him a chance though. Just prove to me he is worth it.

Ok after that novel- if you are willing to share, who do you like? Why? Do you have some things for me to read to change my opinions? I welcome it if you do. Lets keep this friendly and mostly informative. Thanks!

Spiritual Prayers

Every night before going to bed we say a family prayer with Jocelyn. Lately she has taken to helping "say" her prayers and not just listening. Until now it has consisted of her repeating every last word of what we say. Every once and a while she remembers what comes next and says it really fast to show she knows it.

On Wednesday night I was helping Jocelyn say her prayer, we were thanking Heavenly Father for things and she said, " Jessie!" (she got a Jessie doll from Toy Story for Christmas.) so we said, "Thank You for Jessie." then we moved on to those people we ask to be blessed. She then said, "Buzz Light Year." I tried to move on without slipping that one in, but she got frustrated and kept saying it, "Buzz Light Year, Buzz Light Year!" and refused to move on. So then we blessed Buzz Light Year. After that she was happy, and while it may not have been the most appropriate, I think it was her favorite prayer ever.

He Haw

Funny name right? I cant really say it seriously. I have to over do it. Its must be done. But, we went there two years ago for Jocelyn's first Halloween with Cory's sister Kristy and loved it. So this year we went back. It had rained a lot that week so it was not quite as wonderful since it was muddy, but we still had a blast!

Cory was so excited to take Jocelyn around to see everything. He also was excited because they both had boots on.

Fall 2011

Time to get some pictures in here. I keep not posting things because I don't want it to be out of order, then I have to remind myself that its online...I can fix that. So here are some random fall happenings for the Mince family. In no particular order..

We had BBQs up the canyon with friends.
Jocelyn tried to fill her mothers shoes.
Jocelyn tried out her first magic trick "look Mom, no hands!" Oh and..."look, no yogurt made it into my mouth!"
Jocelyn was told to share her stroller with her friend across the street, she said "ok" then sat in it so her friend could push her around. Stinker.
Jocelyn discovered bugs. Too bad she didn't like them the week before when I tried to get her to hold a cool fuzzy caterpillar...
Jocelyn devoured the grapes (Geeps!) from our backyard, seeds and all.
Jocelyn's newest cousin (kind of) came to visit.
Jocelyn LOVES him. And his bouncer, which she sat in whenever he was not in it.
Oh and...she made faces. Which is kind of a 24/7 thing here.

And to finish- GEORGE. Jocelyn making her Uncle Steve proud.
